💪 Your Health Is the Priority
FunKick GRD classes are high-energy, physically demanding experiences. We want every member to get maximum results while staying safe. This policy exists not to limit you — but to empower you to move for life.
1. Health Screening & Medical Clearance
Before participating in any FunKick GRD class, members should:
- Complete our health intake form honestly, disclosing any known conditions
- Obtain written medical clearance from a licensed physician if you have any of the following: cardiovascular conditions, recent surgery (within 12 months), chronic joint or bone conditions, pregnancy, or any condition that limits your physical exertion
- Inform your instructor verbally before each class if you have a current injury or are recovering from illness
FunKick GRD reserves the right to decline participation to anyone whose health condition may pose a risk to themselves or others, at instructor discretion.
2. Choosing the Right Class Level
We offer three class tiers to match your current fitness level:
- IGNITE (Beginner): Suitable for all fitness levels. Lower impact options always available.
- VOLTAGE (Intermediate): Recommended if you've completed 4+ IGNITE sessions or have existing cardio fitness.
- OVERDRIVE (Advanced): High-impact, prolonged intensity. Recommended only for members with established cardio and coordination base.
If you're unsure which level is right for you, speak to an instructor before booking. We'd rather you start lower and move up than hurt yourself trying to start at the top.
3. Listening to Your Body
Physical fitness is a long game. During any class, stop immediately and inform your instructor if you experience:
- Sharp, sudden, or unexpected pain in any joint or muscle
- Dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint
- Difficulty breathing beyond normal exertion
- Chest pain, tightness, or pressure
- Nausea or significant discomfort
Pushing through real pain is never encouraged at FunKick GRD. Instructors are trained to offer modifications — use them. There is no shame in scaling back. That's how you stay on the grid for years.
4. Hydration, Nutrition & Recovery
For optimal performance and safety:
- Drink at least 500ml of water in the 2 hours before class
- Bring a full water bottle — we have refill stations at all locations
- Avoid large meals within 90 minutes of class start
- Allow adequate recovery between sessions — we recommend no more than 5 high-intensity sessions per week
- Rest days are part of the training. Honor them.
5. Injury Protocol
If you are injured during a FunKick GRD class:
- Stop moving immediately and notify the instructor
- All studios carry first aid kits and instructors are trained in basic first aid
- For serious injuries, emergency services will be called immediately
- An incident report will be completed and shared with you
- Do not return to class until cleared by a medical professional
If returning from injury, please notify your instructor before class. We will adjust your participation accordingly.
6. Participation by Minors
Members aged 16–17 may participate with written parental/guardian consent. A parent or guardian must be present for the initial registration and health screening. Those under 16 may only participate in specially designed youth programs when available. All minors are supervised at all times on our premises.
7. Online & Digital Classes
When participating in FunKick GRD online classes, you take full responsibility for:
- Ensuring your workout space is clear of hazards, has adequate flooring, and is well-ventilated
- Having water and first aid accessible
- Informing a household member that you're working out intensely
- Following all the same health guidelines as in-person classes
Online class participants should not attempt OVERDRIVE-level content without prior in-person coaching experience.
